Donald Trump News update- Trump guilty on all 34 counts in hush money trial :
A New York jury found former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 major charges pertaining to the falsification of financial records pertaining to payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election by his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen.
Donald Trump, who is 77 years old, is the first former president of the United States to face criminal conviction. In addition, he has three other criminal cases pending.
Justice Juan Marchen of the Manhattan Supreme Court set the July 11th, 10 a.m. ET sentencing in the payment-for-silence case.
This occurs just a few days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where the twice-impeachable Trump will officially be confirmed as the GOP’s presidential candidate.
In each case, Trump, who is freed without bail, might spend a maximum of four years in prison; however, Marchena is under no obligation to impose any jail time. Trump will undoubtedly file an appeal of this ruling.
The former president was found guilty of falsifying business records, including assertions made by him and the Trump Organization that they paid Cohen for legal fees in order to pay Cohen back for the $130,000 that Cohen had allegedly given Daniels personally prior to the 2016 election.
Speaking on his sentencing on Friday for criminal silence in New York, President Biden referred to President Trump’s response as “reckless” and “dangerous.”
After addressing a press conference at Trump Tower in Manhattan to oppose the criminal proceedings against Trump, Biden remarked at the White House hours later, “It’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was a rigged.”
Biden, who faces Trump in the November election, said his Republican opponent’s imprisonment “affirmed the American principle that no one is above the law.” Biden stated that Trump will have the ability to appeal his punishment after it is issued on July 11.
Democrats, meanwhile, denounced Trump’s claim that the criminal prosecution was politically motivated and that the trial judge and others “rigged” the outcome as “foolish and dangerous”.
